Competition overview

Get together ! Bring your laptops! Turn your creativity mode on to make an innovative project!

Hackathon is a competition for programmers to create a software on a given problem. Bio-Hackathon is a competition for NOT ONLY programmers but also for prosperous students in biology and chemistry. Unlike ordinary hackathons, Bio-Hackathon will assign participants NOT a specific problem to solve, BUT to tackle the biggest biological challenges of their choice existing in Georgia. Working themes are medicine, agriculture, and environment protection.

Bio-hackathon is not just a competition, but also a great opportunity for networking: meeting creative people and sharing ideas. Teamwork plays a crucial role in winning this competition. Therefore, you may not register without a partner; groups must consist of 2-4 people. Participants will have 24 hours to finish their projects. The process will be a lot more interesting with mentors from Microsoft, San Diego State University - Georgia, and GITA; they will be giving participants tips and right directions.

At the end, judges will reveal 3 best projects.

  • Transportation and food will be provided
  • Each participant will get swags including t-shirts, and stickers
